Dr. Deborah Reeve:

On March 12, 2008 the UNT NAEA Student Chapter had the opportunity to attend a guest lecture given by Dr. Deborah Reeve, the Executive Director of the National Art Education Association.  Dr. Reeve was chosen to speak for the Inaugural D. Jack Davis Endowed Lecture in Art Education due to her extensive background in art education.  She has personally taught every level of art from preschool to college and is also a practicing studio artist.  The members of the Student Chapter were enthusiastic after hearing her lecture on the changing landscape of leadership within art education.  She undoubtedly provided an energy boost for all that attended the lecture.  After finishing her presentation, Dr. Reeve took time to speak with individuals who attended the lecture and in doing so exemplified why she is the Executive Director of the NAEA.  She is an extremely personable and inspiring woman to be around and the UNT NAEA Student Chapter will obviously benefit from hearing her present and being given the opportunity to speak with her one on one.  

The UNT NAEA Student Chapter would like to invite you out to eat at Applebee’s on Wednesday April 9th to help raise funds for the organization!  Bring in the flyer (Click here for flyer) and present it to your waiter and they will donate 15% of your total bill back to the UNT NAEA Student Chapter.  This is a wonderful opportunity to help your student chapter and get to know other individuals who support art advocacy.  We hope to see you all there!
